consumption and operations. The HP ProLiant SL4540 Gen 8 server is a converged platform providing an efficient
alternative to a traditional server with Direct Attached Storage (DAS) in environments with petabytes of storage supporting
open source scale out storage applications and large email deployments. It is a convergence of compute and storage that
maximizes every cubic foot in the data center, providing configuration flexibility combined with the built-in intelligence and
automation of the HP ProLiant server.
The SL4540 Gen 8 makes it simple and efficient to deploy large amounts of internal storage. It is the densest server
storage available in the HP ProLiant portfolio today and can store up to 180TB of data in a 4.3U chassis in the 1×60 model
or 150TB of data in the 2×25 model. The design offers flexibility via the use of SAS, SATA and SATA SSD in the storage
section, as well as a single PCIe slot allowing for an HP I/O accelerator, an external storage controller or additional
networking ports. For easy serviceability, all HDDs, power supplies and fans in the server are hot plug and the server node
is easily removable from the front of the chassis.
